Short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell or share it, and you can leave anytime.
What we collect
- Email signups (weekly email or "tell me when it's live"): your email address, the city you picked and where you signed up. You confirm by clicking a link before you're added.
- "Get featured" submissions: the business details you enter, an optional contact name, your contact email and any photos you upload. Contact details are never published.
- Removal requests: what you ask us to change and your email so we can reply.
- We don't collect phone numbers. The site uses no ad trackers and no third-party analytics cookies.
How we use it
- To send the email you asked for, and nothing else unless you ticked a separate box for it.
- To review and publish features you submitted, and to reply to you about them.
- Unpublished feature submissions are deleted after 90 days. Removal-request records are deleted once the request is handled.
Who handles it
Emails are sent and our list is stored with Resend; the site is hosted on Vercel. We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone else.
Your choices
- Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from one list never adds you to another.
- To see or delete what we have about you, email hello@thenewdirt.com.
- To get a post about your business changed or removed, use the removal form.
People in public records
We never publish homeowner names, residential street addresses or the names of individuals on permit applications. Residential construction appears only as counts by ZIP.
